A lactating woman can produce around 850 ml/day of breastmilk during
the first three months postpartum. The energy burned by a woman producing
850 ml/day of milk is around 750 kilocalories per day. Therefore,
by eating the right amounts of carbohydrates, protein, and fats, you
can produce enough milk and succeed in getting back to your pre-pregnancy
weight.
