How did we come to believe that eating is bad? As a society, we punish ourselves when we give in to hunger and congratulate ourselves for skipping meals. Something is very wrong with that picture. At the most basic level, Eating Free is a wake-up call. It's a program designed to wipe the slate clean of all the myths, rumors and fad solutions we hear time and time again. Eating Free means eating what you like, when you like, where you like.
It's a program that encourages eating more, not less. It's an approach that frees you from guilt, emotional eating, boring meals and hunger pangs. And, it's a program that will teach you the truth about exercise. While it's great for health, it's not the key to weight loss. With Eating Free, you'll learn that, if you only have a few extra hours in the week, you'll be better off shopping and preparing the right foods and taking some time to de-stress than killing yourself to bust out an hour on the treadmill. Taking time to care for yourself, to eat and nourish your body; prioritize your health and diet; manage your work and stress load; relax and sleep, is the key to your health and weight.
Learn valuable lessons to change your life and why weight loss has only a little to do with calories and lots to do with quality of life. Health is not a diet plan, but a lifestyle. Understand your body, your strengths, and your limits and use this knowledge to make a change. Stop dieting, restricting, depriving and start living. Learn to eat what you like and shed pounds while doing it! Eating is for survival, but Eating Free is your choice
45-30-25 Macronutrients
Unlike other recent diets, which advocated a lower allowance of carbohydrates, Eating Free recommends a 45-30-25 allocation in order to combat the effects of ghrelin. It also ensures you’re getting enough protein, carbohydrates, fat and nutrients for proper brain, metabolic and bodily functions that will prevent muscle breakdown, curve appetite and provide enough energy throughout the day. Years of research demonstrated that 45% carbohydrate—30% protein—25% fats, when paired with core principles of Eating Free will control ghrelin and thus aid weight loss.
With a higher carb recommendation than many recent diets (for example, the Zone popularized a 40—30—30 split), Eating Free represents a new direction, designed expressly to control ghrelin spikes. While many diets advocate cutting carbs, Eating Free promotes the levels of carbs required for proper brain function and maintenance of glucose and insulin levels. When brain function is compromised and glucose levels decrease, ghrelin kicks in, and weight gain is sure to follow. This is why quick-fix diets and tactics like skipping meals will always fail in the end—because our bodies will force us to eat, if not in that instant, soon after, and often with reckless abandon. Eating Free is not about calorie counting—it’s a way to combat ghrelin spikes using weekly “freebies” from the various nutritional groups, all of which can be tailored to each user’s tastes.
Freebies
Freebies are foods you love, and with Eating Free, they’re a part of every program. Once we get to know you with tools like the FreeQ scoring quiz and energy expenditures, we allocate the different food groups you’ll eat every day, and the best part is, there are freebies in every food group. You can spend your freebies however you want. If you have 6 freebies of grains, you can eat pasta, bread, cous cous—your call. If you have 3 freebies of fats, you can choose guacamole, nuts or some chocolate. We’ll give you your freebies, you decide how to enjoy them.
Freebies are a big part of the Eating Free because we believe your favorite foods should be enjoyed and savored—not demonized and avoided.
